The International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) hosts national semi-annual conferences providing educational courses for brokers and intermediary professionals across the country along with professional workshops put on by leaders throughout the profession, nationally recognized keynote speakers, the M&A Expo and a Trade Fair. The Conferences provide professionals in our industry an opportunity to network with other brokers and intermediaries throughout the United States. The Expo brings together 60 Private Equity Groups with the attending brokers and intermediaries to discuss mutually beneficial opportunities. The Trade Fair puts 50 vendors in a exhibition hall to display their services to the business brokers and intermediaries. The IBBA requires individuals to recertify their CBI status through attendance at various conferences and successful completion of accredited educational courses.

The Pennsylvania Business Brokers Association (PBBA) hosts semi-annual educational opportunities for brokers and intermediary professionals from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. The seminars provide professionals in our industry the opportunity to network with other brokers and intermediaries in practice throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states. The fall seminar, Tax Boot Camp for the M&A Professioinal, was held in Denver, PA. The course focused on understanding basic tax structures along with an update on current market trends. The course is IBBA accredited for those individuals required to recertify their CBI status with the International Business Brokers Association.

The spring seminar, Financing the Acquisition, was held in Denver, PA. The course focused on understanding how business acquistions are financed along with an update on current market trends. The course is IBBA accredited for those individuals required to recertify their CBI status with the International Business Brokers Association.

The presentation focused on understanding the process of selling a company and addressed different issues and areas of concerns business owners have when thinking about selling their company.
